Precision Turning & Milling

Planet Products Corporation currently has seven state-of-the-art CNC horizontal lathes with multi-axis milling capabilities and patented live tooling developed in-house. Depending on weight, we can turn parts up to 20” dia. x 20” length. We regularly hold tolerances less than .001” and achieve finishes of 16 RMS. Planet also has OD/ID grinding as well as honing machines that are used in support the manufacture of turned components.

Precision Turning Machinery

Precision turned steel ring with tolerances less than .001 for bearing interfaces.

Planet’s lathes have milling capabilities enhanced by our own patented Live Tooling, minimizing setups and maximizing precision.

Rotary bell cups use for robotic painting. Turned to <.0005” runout tolerances with a 16 RMS finish and over 200 individual milled serrations on the lip of the cup. When in use for painting, these cups must be extremely well-balanced in order to spin at over 60,000 rpm.
